Those two looked pretty good.
Although Biggs scored in the shootout, the rest of his game looked meh.

Trade Franson and hope for the best.
Seriously though, I'm not sure how Nonis will address this. Tricky poop.

Yeah, but why burn a year to bring him with the Leafs to get minimal ice time and possibly hurt...hes been skating well, but not quite NHL ready. Too bad he cant play with the Marlies but another year of junior wont hurt.

already have liles, gardiner, franson and phaneuf as point producing PMDS..

if anything there is a lack are hard nose defensive minded defenders .. especially when the coach is carlyle.

send him to junior, let him be a team leader, got to the WJC

there is no need to put him on the big club.. you dont put a guy onto the leafs to develop.. development is not what the NHL is for.

and yes, he still needs development.

whats his face mcdavid will be an even better example...I dont care how good you are as a teen, you should have to play tier 1 pro mens league before top tier.....even Wayne played WHA...and no I'm not sayin rielly is on these guys level, but the AHL thing is the same

These two aren't pmd's....physical d-men who know their way around the offensive zone, but not pmd's.

seriously.. when it comes to the NHL its about what the player can bring to the team, not the other way around.

he also didnt exactly light it up on the marlies last season when he played there once junior was finished.. he's a kid.. and for him to have to learn the ropes at the NHL is just a bad idea..

not everyone is crosby etc. some guys are best served waiting til they are in their early 20s

he wont even be done growing yet

Fair enough. He's definitely betyer off playing in Jr than the big league. Even if he does become ready earlier than expected

Yeah, but you have to watch him in the right setting.
You can't judge if I guy is NHL ready when he's playing in a rookie tournament.
I really don't think he will be this year, but you never know. Gotta watch for Leafs Camp and preseason games.
Even if he is ready, he'll still get sent down. There are pros and cons to both. Oh well.

and the point?

they are all guys who need someone reliable beside them

franson has fraser phaneuf has kostka gardiner had guys like gunnarsson and holzer

liles sat a lot once gardiner was in.. injuries in the playoffs forced some changes but i simply cannot see carlyle buying into the idea of having 5 of the 6 d-man in the starting lineup be guys who arent exactly the most defensively responsible in the world.

phaneuf gunnar
franson gardiner (good god this pairing would be BRUTAL defensively)
rielly fraser/liles

3rd pairing minutes.. no PP time.. yeah.. no.. he's going back to junior.. i will happily bet on it.
